Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor of news and hosts SportsNation at times. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins speaks two languages and has been since the age of nine. This ability allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She had the opportunity to collaborate with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station that is located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as an sports reporter. The year 2009 saw her move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigrants across the Texas and Mexico frontier, she was employed as a news reporter on Fox2 News, which is a Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. She was also often asked to fill in as an anchor for the weather or sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She also covered major events such as the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. In addition, she was the host for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked as anchor for sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail native to Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd, 1985 in Mexico City. Her sister is also there. The family moved into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 she tied the knot with a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she went to spend one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. A senior in high school but having an idea of the direction she was going to take for her life, Antonietta visited The University of Mount Union to see if it would meet her requirements. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered the college she had always wanted. Her studies were completed and she was admitted to the university for a master's degree in media studies. They developed a lasting relationship with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director at WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a participant. He inspired her to be confident in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism was deeply affecting her as did she. She determined to meet the expectations of him and not fail him.
